Developmental Editing

2.0¢ per word

A comprehensive editorial review will bring your story to life. It’s not just about the plot; the emotional connection readers have with your characters is equally important. This service will examine the theme, craft of writing, world-building, character arcs, and act structure, among other elements, ensuring your manuscript is structurally sound before it hits the shelf.

Line Editing

1.5¢ per word

Sentences can flow like water down a river or be blocked by debris. This service focuses on tightening sentences, correcting subject-verb agreements and writing mechanics, while safeguarding your unique authorial voice.

Copyediting

1¢ per word

The nitty gritty. This service is designed to pinpoint and correct errors in grammar, syntax, punctuation, and style.

Proofreading

0.008¢ per word

Whether pre- or post-formatting, a final review of the manuscript is the best way to avoid mistakes getting through to print. Note: This service is only available for manuscripts that have undergone at least one round of professional line editing. While it is best practice to send the formatted document for final review, we also proofread unformatted documents. Please note that formatting is not a service that we offer.

Manuscript Evaluation

1¢ per word

This service is designed for authors seeking substantive feedback while working within a budget. A manuscript evaluation is similar to a developmental edit, but with a narrower scope of work.

Academic Line Editing

1.5¢ per word

Working on your dissertation? This service will correct writing mechanics, strengthen thesis statements, and ensure stylistic consistency throughout your dissertation. Please note that Plotwise only accepts dissertations that follow APA, MLA, and Chicago style.
