Amy Currie

Director

Amy has been helping writers in various sectors for the past seven years. She began her career as an editorial assistant at The Rights Factory and later transitioned to a writing center position at MSVU. Currently, Amy serves as the director and developmental editor here at Plotwise. Amy's preferred genres include science fiction, fantasy, gothic horror, romance, literary fiction, and poetry. She also works on creative nonfiction, memoir, and business-related manuscripts. Amy holds an educational background in English Literature (MSVU) and Creative Writing (U of T SCS), as well as editing courses from TMU. She is a member of various professional organizations, including Editors Canada and the Editorial Freelancers Association.

Lyra

Lyra is a freelance editor, proofreader, and indexer with over two decades of in-house book editing experience. Her portfolio spans scholarly monographs, trade fiction, and a wide range of nonfiction. She brings a calm, steady, and thoughtful approach to each project, combining a high level of editorial skill that is grounded in industry standards and a genuine respect for the author’s craft. She considers it a privilege to be trusted with a manuscript and to help shape it into its strongest form. She maintains membership in several professional organizations, including Editors Canada, the Editorial Freelancers Association, and the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading. Outside of work, Lyra trains service dogs and supports their guardians in the self-training process. She’s a lifelong horror fan (the good, the bad, and everything in between) and volunteers her time with organizations focused on animal welfare, online safety, and missing persons advocacy.

Lucia

Lucia is a freelance editor with over twenty years of experience in both trade and educational publishing. She specializes in line editing, copy editing, and proofreading for fantasy, cozy mysteries, young adult fiction, as well as teachers’ guides and student books. She holds certifications from Editors Canada and has worked at Scholastic Canada and Pearson Education.
